President's Report

We’re in the midst of the holiday season and I want to reflect on what I’m thankful for.

Following Frank’s excellent article on gratitude, I want to say “Thank You.” Thank you to Frank and the Section staff for their work to support the Section and make us all look good. Thank you to the ED’s and Chapter Leadership that make our Chapters and the Section one of the best in the PGA of America. Thank you to all of our spouses, partners, significant others, and plus-ones who support us as we devote so much time to the profession we love.

These last two years have taught us the values of flexibility, focus, and commitment. Once again, our owners and operators have asked us to do more with less. You all have delivered on that, and many of you went way beyond what was asked. I am proud of all our PGA Professionals and Associates in the Pacific Northwest. You all do so much with so little recognition. I truly appreciate you all and what you do. You are all OGO’s (Oh Great Ones).

Lastly, thank you all for allowing me the privilege and honor of serving as your Section President. I wish you all the happiest and safest of holidays!

As always, please stay safe, reach out, and contact someone you have not seen or talked to in a while.

Thank you for your time and all that you do,

Howie Pruitt, PGA
Director, Golf Operations, Aspen Lakes GC
President, Pacific Northwest Section

Supporting Our Charities

You support vital charities in our communities through the PNW PGA tournament program! The Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open helped raise $68,000 for Folds of Honor and Friends of American Lake Veterans GC in 2021. The Northwest Open and Alaska Folds of Honor Championship raised an additional $20K for Folds of Honor this year. The 2021 Rosauers Open made $100K for Vanessa Behan.

The Chapters collectively raised over a million dollars for organizations like the Children’s Cancer Association, Boys & Girls Club, Golf Course Superintendents Association, Folds of Honor, Friends of the American Lake Veterans GC and The First Tee. Additionally, the first-ever PNW PGA 100-Hole Marathon raised $50,900 for 23 local charities.

You should all be proud of yourselves! In this season of giving, if you are able to do so, we invite you to donate additional funds to our official tournament charities.
