PNW PGA Professional Championship (PPC)/2004

The 2004 Pacific Northwest Section PGA Club Professional Championship was held at Aspen Lakes Golf Club in Sisters, Oregon where Tom Sovay ran away with the title by winning by four strokes over Bob Rannow of Sandpines GL and Michael Combs of Canyon Lakes GC. Second round co-leader Tracy Vest finished fourth at 215.

Tom Sovay posted scores 71-68-70-209 for a seven under total to take a $3,500 share of the $31,750 purse. Sovay, is also the champion of the 2004 Al C. Giusti Memorial Invitational this past April at Riverside GC in Portland, Oregon. Congratulations Tom on another great win!

Players were also competing for 14 qualifying spots into the Western Regional PGA Club Professional Championship at Diablo Grande GC in Patterson, California, October 14-17. Jeff Coston received an exemption due to his spectacular play this year at the 35th PGA Club Professional Championship at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio where he placed in a tie for fourth. Players at the Western PGA Club Professional Championship will be qualifying for spots to the 36th PGA Club Professional Championship in June of 2005.

Congratulations to Tom Sovay, Bob Rannow, Michael Combs, Tracy Vest, Ryan Malby, Scott Leritz, Jeff Bender, Jeff Coston, Mike Swingle, Matt Bunn, Scott Krieger, Jeff Fought, Mike Gove, Brett Eaton, and Wayne Clark for qualifying for the Western Regional PGA Club Professional Championship at Diablo Grande GC in Patterson, California, October 14-17.
