The PNW PGA Assistant Professional Championship, supported by Cleveland Golf, Srixon, Golf Channel, and the PGA TOUR, is under way at Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton, Washington. The Pacific Northwest Section’s top assistant professionals are competing for the prestigious title of PNW PGA Assistant Professional Champion in a 36-hole individual stroke-play championship contested in a single day.
The top three finishers will earn berths into the 50th PGA Assistant Championship, to be played November 12–15, 2026, at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. While this year’s national championship celebrates its 50th anniversary, the Pacific Northwest PGA Section has conducted its Assistant Professional Championship since 1965, when Fred Pelzer donated the championship trophy.

The PGA Assistant Championship was established nationally in 1976 to recognize the vital role PGA Assistant Professionals play in the success of golf facilities and the PGA of America. Today, the championship represents more than 10,000 PGA Assistant Professionals and Registered Associates across the country.

Founded in 1967 by George E. Bell, Fairwood Golf & Country Club was originally designed by architect William G. Teufel, with later renovations by noted Pacific Northwest architect John Harbottle III. Known for its narrow fairways and firm, fast greens, Fairwood offers a challenging but fair test for competitors.
Fairwood has a long history of championship golf, including hosting the 1986 Washington Open, and previously welcomed the PNW PGA Assistant Professional Championship in 2012 and 2016.
