PNW PGA Winter Pro-Am – Final Results

Team Brogan Wins Hawai'i Pro-Am!
Hawaii-Pro-AmThe Pacific Northwest Winter Pro-Amateur Championship was recently completed  at Mauna Lani Resort in Hawai’i.  We had 19 teams in Hawai’i for seven days, enjoying the sunshine and hospitality of the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel on the Big Island for the 39th Annual Pacific Northwest PGA Winter Pro-Am.  Host professional Tom Sursely  welcomed the players to the popular Mauna Lani North and South courses in between excursions to the volcano, deep sea fishing and just soaking up some rays at the many beaches on the island.

The team from Rainier G&CC headed by PGA Director of Golf Carol Brogan and amateurs Chuck Gorecki, Steve Gorecki, Steve Elliott and Polly Elliott captured the overall team title.  They edged out the Maplewood GC team with PGA Head Professional Mike Toll and his amateurs Greg Zevely, Dennis Maples, James Postma and Bill Badger.

PGA Head Professional Bob Turnquist from The Oregon GC won low professional honors by one stroke over PGA Teaching Professional Jason Aichele of Meadow Springs CC.

The Pacific Northwest Winter Pro-Amateur Championship is a five-man team, of one professional and four amateurs playing stableford competitions.  There were daily team prizes, daily professional prizes, daily amateur gross and net prizes as well as overall prizes for the professionals and teams.  There were many different ways a player could cash.

Teams played Saturday, February 1 at Mauna Lani – South Course, Monday, February 3 on the North Course before returning to the South Course on Tuesday, February 4.
