As we progress through spring, I wanted to highlight our most recent PNWPGA Spring Membership Meeting at Meridian Valley Country Club. It was a great couple of days in mid-March, getting together to share best practices and promote the game of golf. Thank you to PGA General Manager Greg Manley, PGA Associate Professional Wes Hayden and staff for hosting the meeting as well as the PNWPGA Pro-Assistant tournament. Also, thank you to our sponsors for supporting this great championship. Sally Schmitz with Bushnell, Bryan Dickson with Cutter and Buck and Matt Pollitt of PTE Golf are great partners of the PNWPGA and we appreciate all of their support of our Section.
At the conclusion of our Spring General Membership meeting, we had breakout sessions for additional MSR opportunities. Carol Pence and Monte Koch rose to the occasion, leading small groups on career building, resume writing tips, and best practices on promoting and growing the game of golf. Just before we ended the meeting, CEO Jeff Ellison and myself presented a short presentation of what our Section Board has been working on and towards the most recent months. It was a good Q+A session, with topics ranging from Tournaments to Education to Governance. I wanted to offer to share that presentation with anyone that didn’t get a chance to see it. If you would like a copy of it, it is available on the member website (use your PGALinks login).
Your Section Board is here for you, and we want your input. The more we know from our members about how we can better serve the 1100 of us, the better we will be able to serve you and guide our Section down the best road.
Have a great season! Get out and play some golf, and promote this game of golf, the most wonderful of games.
