We are saddened to share the passing of PGA Member Joseph “Joe” Clarizio (June 7, 1936 – September 24, 2025), beloved former owner and Director of Golf at Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Oregon.
Joe dedicated over five decades of his life to the game of golf. He worked as an assistant professional at Circle “R” Ranch & Golf Resort in Escondido, California (1961), Vandenberg Air Force Base Golf Course in Santa Maria, California (1962), and Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Washington (1965).
He served as Head Golf Professional at Arrowhead Golf Club from 1964 to 1989, then as Director of Golf until 2015. Joe and his wife, Betty Jean Clarizio (who passed away in 2022), owned and operated Arrowhead from 1972 to 2015.
He was deeply involved in supporting junior golf programs and fostering a love for the game in younger generations. In 1978, Joe received the PNWPGA Professional Development Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to developing and improving fellow PGA Professionals. He became a PGA Life Member in 2009, continuing to serve as a mentor and example of integrity and passion for the game.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Village in Canby, Oregon. All who knew and loved Joe are welcome to attend and honor his memory.
