Erik Nielsen, PGA was hired by the PGA of America in 2015 to facilitate continuing education and training programs for PGA Member Professionals, PGA Associates, and PGA PGM University students. In 2017, Nielsen was named the Director of Business Operations for the PGA Education Department and the PGA Education Center. During his five years in that role, he implemented budgets of over $5 million annually and oversaw the entire travel budget of nearly 2,000 PGA Members and PGA Associates combining for over 12,000 travel days each year. Since 2021, as an education faculty member specializing in Golf Operations and Executive Management, his goals are to promote the facility value, golf industry expertise, and community engagement of the PGA of America’s 31,000 professionals.
