Please join us for the PNW Pro-Assistant Championship at Willamette Valley CC on March 19-20. There are just a few spots left – here’s your chance to sign up your additional team! Head PGA Professional John Grothe is excited to host this year and invites you to join us for both the tournament and our meeting, which will immediately follow our first round at 7:00 pm. You are all invited to attend. Dress attire for the meeting is golf attire.
“The Pro-Assistant Championship is always a “don’t miss” event for me each year. It is a great way to kick off the season with a nice mix of competition and camaraderie. With as much time as I spend together with my assistants on a daily basis at work, we rarely get the chance to play golf together. The Pro-Assistants Championship gives us the opportunity to connect at the competitive level, which is what originally drew many of us to the business.” – Brent Murray, 2012 champion

A Popular Event for Bosses and Employees
The Pacific Northwest Pro-Assistant Championship began in 1992 with a seven-hole sudden-death match between the Progress Downs team of Jerry Minor/Ralph West and the Royal Oaks team of Steve Bowen/Michael Wilkerson, with the Progress Downs team being victorious.
Last year, the team from Lake Spanaway GC consisting of Head PGA Professional Mike Fosnick and Assistant Professional Shane Prante won the Pro-Assistant Championship after posting rounds of 64-65-129. They won by a single stroke over Head PGA Professional Mike Montgomery and Assistant Professional Derek Berg of Sahalee CC.
Willamette Valley CC
Willamette Valley Country Club proudly boasts one of the most highly respected 18-hole championship golf courses in the Pacific Northwest. Shirley Stone designed the original layout of this course, further developed by Bill Robinson and Craig Schreiner to become today’s 7,200-yard masterpiece and “hidden gem” of the Willamette Valley. The sixteenth hole has become the signature hole of Willamette Valley Country Club. It is a short but difficult dog-leg left par 4 which requires an accurate approach shot over the pond to a large yet drastically undulating three-tier green.
