Bushnell, Cutter & Buck and Ogio are retutning with Rep’s Sally Schmitz and Bryan Dickson for an exciting sponsorship. Thank you!
The Pacific Northwest Pro-Assistant Championship launched into the tournament world in 1992 with a seven hole sudden-death match between the Progress Downs team of Jerry Minor/Ralph West and the Royal Oaks team of Steve Bowen/Michael Wilkerson with the Progress Downs’ team being victorious.
The original Overlake G&CC opened in 1927, and the architect for this 18 hole course was Frank James. Overlake G&CC was in full swing until 1935, when the Great Depression forced the club’s closure.
In 1952, Norton Clapp agreed that another private golf club was needed and leased the 132 acre site to the newly formed Overlake G&CC. The club’s founders hired A. Vernon Macan of Victoria to design a new layout. Macan routed the second course in virtually the opposite direction as the original layout. The new course at Overlake G&CC opened for play on June 27, 1953.
Last year, the Oswego Lake CC team of PGA Professionals Brent Murray and Scott Erdmann came from two shots back after the first round to post 9 under par 133 thanks to a final round 64 that included 7 birdies and an eagle.
Sally Schmitz is back as a sponsor of the Pro-Assistant Championship with Bushnell and Ogio.
Bushnell has been the industry leader in high performance sports optics for over 50 years while offering cutting edge technology on a wide array of rangefinders.
Ogio and its products like to be on the go. The company’s a bag maker for sports gear; its unique niche is focusing on bag design for functionality. Ogio manufactures about 400 different types of golf club bags, backpacks, duffel bags, and day packs.
Bryan Dickson is also a returning sponsor with Cutter & Buck. Cutter & Buck is a premier line of golf-inspired apparel for men and women who appreciate innovative, high-quality sportswear and was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1989.
We hope to see you at the Pro-Assistant Championship and our General Meeting at Overlake G&CC next month!
